Mary Binns-Davis has over 20 years of experience representing individuals and families in crisis. Mary is a life-long resident of the Eastern Panhandle of West Virginia and a 1996 graduate of the West Virginia University College of Law.
Mary is admitted to practice law in West Virginia and with experience practicing beforethe West Virginia Supreme Court, the United States District Courts in both the Northern and Southern Districts of West Virginia and the United States Fourth Circuit Court of Appeals. Mary is also a trained Collaborative Divorce professional and mediator for civil litigation and general family law mediation
In the 20 years since she graduated, Mary has practiced in the areas of family law, employment law, personal injury, workers' compensation, social security, educational law, bankruptcy, consumer law, criminal law and wills and estates. Mary also taught Constitutional Law at Hagerstown Community College from 2001 through 2007.
Mary primarily focuses her community practice in the area of family law and those aspects of the legal system that frequently touch families in crisis including bankruptcy, consumer law issues, wills and estates, disability and criminal law. Mary discovered her calling representing individuals and families while working with children and adolescents at a psychiatric hospital, while attending college and following the completion of her undergraduate degree.
While working in the field of psychology, Mary witnessed firsthand the trauma that children and adolescents suffer when parents confront the emotional issues of divorce, particularly child custody. The desire to assist families during the crisis of a divorce prompted Mary to pursue the practice of law.
Mary believes that you can have compassionate representation in times of crisis without sacrificing the serious representation you need for your serious legal issues.
